David:  Thanks to Chris’s organizational skills, and Doug’s technical prowess, we were ready to leave for our bike trip by 6:40 a.m. on Saturday. We wonder if Callie, our dog, will remember is in 3 months. Probably. She and Doug will have bonded even more.

Let’s talk luggage. Chris was originally planning to do this cross-country ride by herself, carrying her sleeping bag, tent and all other provisions for the ride on her bike. Now we’re two, and I’m driving a support van, and it is considered a “supported ride,” and it seems like we packed to relocate to the West Coast!  Too much. 

And, it seems like not enough. We discovered the first day that we forgot the extension cord, gas for the Colman Burner, and we’re sure there will be more.
