A Sanctuary in Texas

David: We did not know what to expect when we booked a campsite at Shepard Sanctuary. It is outside Shepard, Texas after all.  Perhaps nothing more. Are there German Shephard Sanctuaries here? Maybe a biblical allusion?

What we did not expect was a Buffy sign - the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer sign from the series!  But there it was. Along with other signs and memorabilia that are there in some cases for no other reason than that they delight Peach Williamson and Connie Mundo. This is a Sanctuary they have created for themselves, and for people who find solace in being themselves in a world that demands a whole lot of conformity

                                     There are a variety of totems to provide inspiration and contemplation.

I’m learning more about Texas horticulture! 

                         We chose the cabin for $20!  The other option was tenting for $10. Easy choice.
