Chris: Highlight of my day was meeting this kind man named Shorty Boy who sensed my distress when I stopped at a gas station and discovered my bike lock was back at the camp site. He offered to watch my bike while I went inside. We talked awhile and I asked him to tell me about his town. Turns out it’s where Ray Charles was raised. The statute in his honor was a block out of my way though and that was just too far. Shorty Boy worked as a corrections officer for many years and we talked about what hard work that is. He now spends his time helping out people in need. It was such a pleasure talking to you Shorty Boy. I appreciate your help and value our talk and your good work in your town.
You already know prisoners and corrections officers. And you just keep bumping into MORE!
ReplyDeleteChris, I propose that you & David come up with a catchy trail name - the Appalachian Trail through hikers do it all the time! (just not Shorty Girl).
ReplyDeleteYes! Trail Name nominations are now open. I like "Booking It".
ReplyDeleteHow about Chris The Rider?

"piecing the U.S. together tour" as a nod to your other big passion. Please... someone who is an actual wordsmith...take that idea and work with it!
